Nature Therapy / Forest Bathing
As both a fully-licensed mental health professional as well as certified Mindful Outdoor Guide (Kripalu), I am proud to fully claim being a nature therapist.
The art and practice of nature therapy is found in every contemplative religion and increasing in medical research and practices (e.g. PaRx in Canada) around the world.
Join me in slowing down, being attentive to nature with all our senses, and deepening our appreciation of ourselves and our innate and integral connection to all things, that we often label as Nature.
Together we enjoy simple warm-up movements, natural history of the area, guided breathing and centering awareness, mindful walking with sensory activities, and finding our nature meditation/sit spot.
I’ve crafted experiences with: schools, faith organizations, private groups, and offer ongoing community events with civic and nature organizations such as Massachusetts Audubon, Fresh Pond Reservation, Cambridge Public Library, and Mount Auburn Cemetery, to name a few.
I welcome the opportunity to customize an experience for you or your organization to connect to Nature in your own way whether it be exploring the delicateness of plants, strength of trees, movement of animals, or the vastness of the sky.
As Shinrin Yoku (‘forest bathing’) and ongoing medical research remind us, nurturing our inherent relationship with Nature is good for us, body and soul.
